Julie Bell-Rose

Julie Bell-Rose is the Bell-Rose Academy of Dance Founder and Principal. Julie has over 30 years teaching experience training dancers, preparing them for exams at all levels, costume design, choreographing routines for and producing large scale concerts.
Miss Julie continues to successfully enter children in Classical Ballet, Jazz and Tap Examinations.
Miss Julie has the following qualifications:
Miss Julie studied Classical Ballet under the late Miss Strelsa Heckelman, Prima Ballerina with Helena Kirsova’s Ballet Company, the Borovansky Ballet Company and the National Theatre Ballet Company. In addition, she was trained by Mr Martin Rubinstein, a Principal Dancer with the Borovansky Company and a major examiner with the RAD. Vivienne Yung
Vivienne has danced with Bell-Rose Academy of Dance since the age of 5, studying various styles of dance including Tap, Ballet and Jazz. She has completed up to the high levels in her examinations, as well as participating in choreographic competitions.
In 2012, Miss Vivienne attained her Teaching Certificate with the Southern Federation of Dance, and since then has successfully prepared her students for SFD examinations and choreographing routines for their end of year concerts.
Vivienne is thrilled to be able to pass on her love and knowledge of dance to Bell-Rose students.
Lillian Direen
Lillian is originally from Hobart and has over 20 years dance experience in all styles, including Contemporary, Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Theatrical and Hip Hop. In Hobart she trained at Jenina’s Dance Workshop and danced competitively in the Southern Tasmanian Dance Eisteddfod, successfully performing in solos, duos and groups. She also participated in dance concerts, workshops and various corporate events around Hobart. She attended singing training at ExitLeft Performance Academy and regularly performed in large scale amateur musicals in Hobart since 2005, until moving to Melbourne in 2011.
Since moving to Melbourne Lillian has achieved a Masters of Teaching (P-12) (Dance and Drama), and also a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Dance and Drama) from Deakin University, Burwood. Within her Bachelor she attained a higher kinaesthetic awareness, understanding the art of composition and choreography. She went on to study a Masters of Teaching due to her beliefs in the value of kinaesthetic learning, and the importance of fostering creativity and enjoyment amongst young individuals, through dance and movement. She believes dance offers students the opportunity to gain confidence, make friends, work together and have fun.
Lillian hopes to impart the knowledge and enthusiasm she has for dance, to the young minds of tomorrow.
Guest Teacher - Jaclyn Tasker
Jaclyn Tasker has been teaching with Bell-Rose Academy of dance since 2002. She teachers a variety of classes, has had numerous students successfully pass exams and was an examiner for our mock exams. Miss Jaclyn is a qualified dance teacher with Southern Federation of Dance and is also a primary school teacher with a Masters in Mathematics Education. She runs dance groups and Victorian State Schools Spectacular groups at the primary school where she teaches. Recently, she has adjudicated at competitions around Melbourne.
